Let me start off by saying that as a lower-middle-class kid, I always aspired to do something great. I had a dream of helping a lot of people but ended up living lower class (maybe lower) for almost a decade, staying in basements, cars, and storage sheds. (Don’t tell my parents, they’d freak!) Just so I could achieve that dream.
Now, I’m not trying to tell you that if you want to achieve what you want then you have to live in your car. But here are a few practical solutions that I used to hustle when I was trying to find my way.
1. Sell stuff
The best way to clear up your life and make money is to sell stuff. When times were tough, I would literally go on eBay and sell the stuff in my house. Stuff like pieces of furniture or even random items I got from airports around the world would help me to put gas in my car and make my next move easier.
2. (Don’t) Buy Stuff
You, of course, need some things in life like food, but be honest with yourself. Do you really need to be eating all organic grass-fed cage free eggplants?! Naw, sometimes a peanut butter sandwich will do just fine. I’m not saying that you should be eating rice and beans every day, but there is something to be said about practicality when you’re hustling to get to the next level.
3. Get Help
Now I don’t mean like counseling, although I definitely wouldn’t rule it out. What I mean here though is to let people in on your cause and recruit help. You can only do so much with your own two hands and if you don’t feel like waiting your whole life to get what you want then I would encourage you to have people help you along the way.
The thing here is that there are a lot of talented people out there. If you don’t have the patience to wait it out (and if you’re struggling to get by, I don’t blame you) then I would have you consider that there are a ton of ways besides these 3 that you can employ to make your life a little bit easier. Best of all, they’re practical and not all woo-woo and new agey.
Listen, a lot of people take on situations like it’s them against the world, but I’d like you to consider the following. You are 1…the world is 7.8 billion. What do you think your odds are? Just think about it, if there is just one more person out there that thinks like you do and is willing to team up, you’ve just doubled your chances of a world take over!
You may not want to take over the world. That’s cool, brothalemieu, not many people do. But what you might want to consider is the power you have when you take over your own life. Life is the only thing you actually own and it’s my intention to help you make the most of it.
