Seinfeld’s Boat

Ah, man it’s good to be back…I think. I had a few setbacks on my way back, but I guess that’s par for the course when just about everything goes your way for a full two weeks.

NE hoo, lemme tell you bout this boat and the passenger on it…Mr. Seinfeld! Jerry Seinfeld was docked in a boat next to me. We were in contact with his crew and we even invited to a party that he was attending. It was an awesome vacation, I tell ya, but there is one thing that I learned from him that I’ll never forget…

They officially cancelled the festival, so we were all essential on a relatively remote island with nothing. Luckily, I and a few other festival goers were fortunate enough to have boats instead of being stuck with whatever the festival provided so we had the opportunity to instead explore the island.

We met Seinfeld’s crew when we were out trying to figure out the new game plan and we were discussing places to go. We had heard about pig beach and our captain was from there, so we decided to go north. Jerry and his crew said they would follow us, but in the morning he instead audibled and went south citing that there’d be too many people up north. Bad move…

You see, the waters heading down that way were pretty bad. So bad in fact that his boat ran ashore and cost him about 5 million in damages. (sheesh!!) Had he followed his instincts to join us, that wouldn’t have happened.

I can think of a ton of times when I doubted myself and came to the wrong conclusion. It hasn’t costed me $5 mill, but I’ve learned enough to know that going with your gut is something that can at least lead you to a swim with pigs on the beach.

P.S. Seinfeld’s comedy is great, but don’t trust him to sail your boat 😉
