Is There More I Can Do?

There are so many that feel like they have the right answers, but you know it’s kinda hard to figure out who really has the right stuff.

It’s not about having the right answers though…

I learned that the other day when I received some unwarranted criticism about my writing.  Ok maybe it wasn’t unwarranted, maybe unsolicited. 😉

But I shouldn’t even say that actually. Let’s actually start from the beginning here to get you a little caught up.

I just about shat myself the other day as I sat there looking at my stats (as many bloggers and email marketers like myself do) and saw that I my recent email had a ton more unsubscribes than I had ALL YEAR!

What the hell did I say?! What did I do? Was there some inappropriate photo (I have a few…NOT illegal) photo that I accidentally attached??

I couldn’t figure it out, so I did the only thing I knew to do…ask a question.

Turns out, that is exactly what I should do because that one question completely changed not only my email format, but led serendipitously led me to a famous speaker/minister that reiterated and reinforced that point for me.

At the end of the day…

It’s not about having all the answers. It’s impossible to have every single answer. But people will always believe they have the best way. And that’s fine. Seriously, you have every right to believe that your way is working and is going to give you the best results.

But it seems apparent and I would also have you consider that throughout history, the most legendary of sorts weren’t the ones who had all the answers.

It was the one’s who always asked questions. The one’s that really understood that there are more ways to success than ONE.

So…ummm…it’s a tough question to ask sometimes, but you gotta be honest brozilla…

Is what you you’re doing working?

It’s something that I had to ask and unfortunately, it took me until I could clearly see that what I was doing wasn’t actually working that I decided to make a change.

You can too if you like. It’s as simple as asking the right question…

P.S. So I don’t somehow set off some secret government tap that slows down my computer performance, I would like to reiterate, I have no illegal photos on my computer. But I will go on record saying that I can neither confirm or deny the existence of movies currently in theaters on my hard drive. HAHA!

NE ways I know you’re probably curious what that question is. I know I always think of it when I read or hear something from a mentor that sparks something in my mind. I don’t have much more time to go into it here, but if you’d like, you can join my private Facebook group Project SELFFY where we are discussing these very same questions right now. You Nervous Bro?

That’s what my training partner and favorite

Block holder throughout my NCAA career said

As I was warming up before the start of my race.

“Naw,” I replied as I continued on

Jumping up and down to get my legs ready.

But let me give you some context here.

Imagine this.

It’s the 2002 NCAA conference championship

And it’s in St. Peter, MN which happens to be

Where I’m enrolled at good ‘ole GAC or

Gustavus Adolphus College if you’re one of

Those refined midwesterners

I was about to run the biggest race of my life

In front of my home crowd on the track I

Practiced on just about daily (in snow even)

Was I nervous? HELLZ YEAH!!!

You see broham, the part I left out was that

Moments before the race, my block holder

And best friend had just woken me up from

A literal 2 hour nap.

I was so excited about the very prospect of

Running on my home turf, so to speak, that I

Just couldn’t sleep the previous night.

After my first race of the day I was gassed

And decided to lay down, but I didn’t

Think I’d be deep in REM sleep

10 minutes before the starting gun.

So as I was jumping up and down trying to

Warm-up legs that felt like they were still asleep

I kept telling myself this 1 thing…

I’m excited!

I would like you to consider the difference

Between excited and nervous

What is your body like when you’re excited?

Your palms get a little sweaty

Your heart beats faster

Your stomach turns knots…

Now what’s it like when you’re nervous?

Your palms get a little sweaty

Your heart beats faster

Your stomach turns knots…

Exactly!

One of my coaches taught me that

Your body responds the same way if

You’re nervous or excited.

So whenever I start to feel a little nervous

I just tell myself that I’m getting excited.

The mind is a very powerful thing

But it has a quite a few loop holes and

Back doors that can be easily exploited

Which can lead to interesting results.

Into creating success in your own life.

Humble And Unemployed

Change, yeah we’re still on that from yesterday.

Why is change so damn important?

Well amigo let’s make this simple.

Your results so far are not up to par and your

Technique needs a little improving.

Look, it’s nothing to be ashamed of

Everyone, looks at what they’re doing every now

And again and decides to change course.

Nothing works forever right?

But it’s really all because we want recognition.

And to do that, we have to get noticed.

See where I’m going here?

You can’t get noticed if you’re blending in.

My friends call that “death by faint praise”

What do I mean by that?

So what does death by faint praise mean?

Well imagine that you’ve got a bunch bosses

Sitting around discussing promotions. Your name comes up

And they say yeah, “he’s a nice guy”

And nothing else…

Because you don’t stand out, you don’t stand a chance.

So broham, if you want to increase your chances of

Moving up in the world, your best bet is to move away

From “he’s ok” and toward “he’s amazing”

There are many ways to do this, but we discuss this more

In depth in my program. I would like to invite you to be a part

Of this free program that teaches people how to go from good

To great without so much as a single dollar invested.

It takes mindset and everyone has the potential, but

Not everyone has the desire.

If you desire to become a part of a growing tribe of people

Destined to make a real impact in the world because they

Refuse to be ignored, I would encourage you to learn more

Here: Be better do better.

P.S. The point is that failing can be bad.

Some people can get really hung up on results.

But even worse than failing is being ignored.

I couldn’t imagine living in this world without

Having some sort of impact. If you feel this way too
