You know, they say you gotta earn it when it comes to success. It can’t just be given to you. You just don’t realize that it’s true until you actually try to earn something for yourself. Let me pose a question to you. If you had all the money in the world and achieved all the goals you set out to achieve would you be happy?
In a word…probably not (OK that’s two words)
You see, there is a huge difference between achievement and success. There was someone I was talking to in the Bahamas whom I thought said it best when he said: “Money can’t buy happiness, but it pays for the yacht to pull alongside it.”
That, at first, may sound a little crude, but if you think about it and if you’re honest with yourself, you’ll know that it’s true. The yacht represents achievement, something that you can measure. But the harder to explain phenomenon, success, is something that we feel and can’t quite explain so we use things like money, expensive items, and various other forms of opulence to express that feeling of success.
The problem is that sometimes they go together and sometimes they don’t and that’s where a lot of people get hung up. They either chase the toys and lose their whole purpose or they get so caught up in making something that they love that they never really put it out into the world…
So where’s the happy medium? How can you achieve and feel successful? Well, that isn’t something that we can completely answer here, but I’ll give you a clue that might be a good guide. Ready?
Start with a purpose and never forget it.
Sounds simple enough and it is, especially when you have a group of people waiting to help you find and maintain your purpose. If you’re looking for a group that can help you to reach heights you never thought were possible then you should consider the group over here at the General Fitness Company.
Just shoot me a message here to get started today.

P.S. If you’re in the Philadelphia area and you use social media, check out our local group Project SELFFY. We’re just starting, but it’s a private place where we can share ideas about living the good life in Philadelphia. Talk soon…
Ha! Yeah, I’m staying a few days on an actual boat in the Bahamas. I say this not to brag (ok maybe a little), but to inform you of how your hard work can pay off.
But hold up there brosephine! If you know me, you know that I’m not the type to be riding around in luxury vehicles and hanging out on boats with my vacation money. In fact, I can’t even say that I’ve saved up enough money to cover half these opportunities that I’ve been so fortunate to experience.
So how did I do it?
I just asked.
I unfortunately, don’t have a lot of time to completely fill you in on HOW you can do it. But I know you don’t have to just be a fitness pro to do what I’m currently doing now. So if you’re interested in finding out how you can live the good life without having to be concerned with your money, or if you’ll ever be able to afford any type of luxury in your life, click below to join the conversation in my private Facebook group.
P.S. I don’t have anything to sell in my group. It’s not a sales call, more so an invite to join me and a few other people like yourself that are interested in starting a real conversation about values and self motivation as well as inspiration. If you feel that you would benefit from a group like ours, then I would strongly encourage you to click the link above. Talk soon…
I don’t even think you can give those buckets away now.
You ever wonder why great product disappear?
I mean sure they had a few flaws, actually they were one of the better one’s if my memory serves me right…
Regardless…the reason why they are now better hockey pucks than music players is because the company that made them, thought that the people were buying music players, so they set out to make the absolute best music players.
But what people really were buying was a conveniently portable music experience…
Welp Mr. Jobs –his friends called him Steve– stepped up and said that his “computer company” would produce this experience (with less song capability to boot) and the rest is iPod history.
So what can we learn from this?
Well I learned that if you really get to the core of what people want in life, be it more music, convenience, or fitness you can really start getting into the heart of what is truly innovative.
It’s hard to be authentic when you are focusing on what you are doing and how well you’re doing it.
It’s not about the failures and successes briznit.
It’s not about the “how” much you love her or “what” you do to make money.
Stay with me broham…
It’s about your purpose. Your very reason for existence on this planet. You were not put on this planet to work 90 hour weeks and be in debt, but still never see your family…
Freedom is what you seek
And It’s not the system.
It’s us that need to change.
Start with “why.” Simon Sinek said it best in his book titled…Start With Why (why, of course).
Why, is not where your complete your journey, but it can shed some light on certain issues that may need a new beginning.

P.S. When you’re wrong you’re wrong and sometimes it takes others to point out those mistakes. You gotta drink your medicine sometimes, right?
Anyhoo, I’m fortunate to have a supportive group of people that have helped me get to the point I am in life. I have a feeling that they might be able to help you too.
Project SELFFY is a Facebook group I created that discusses these same issues in life. I’d consider it a pretty good resource (if I do say so myself) Feel free to join the conversation. Talk soon…
