Look What He’s Done To US

I really don’t know how to say this, but well actually really I DON’T know how to say this. But let me tell you this, I understand that we live in a very complicated world. Nothing is black and white. I mean hell, even black and white photos have shades of gray in them.

But I remember back in the day when hurricane Katrina hit. After all that ruckus, so many people came out to help. Actors, athletes, music celebrities. Speaking of which, you remember when Kanye West came on t.v and said “George Bush hates black people,” in front of a stunned Mike Myers?

I laughed at that, but we all thought it was a little crazy. Because you know, it kinda was…

But now…

We have a president that hasn’t started any wars and has actively reached out to the black community yet everybody is speaking out, but they’re not crazy??

OK, let me back up for a second, I can hear the collective groans already. And you starting to fix your mouth to say “But Jerry, that’s different.” So let me stop you right there and tell you that I’m not trying to get political here. I’m trying to make a point. That nobody, no situation, is ever black and white.

Beyond that, the way of thinking of things as black and white is so old school. The younger generations understand that there are so many variations and shades of gray that it’s really hard to say what is truly what.

Like I said, I don’t know how to say this, but it’s just difficult for me to see so many people blaming, self-sabotaging, and expressing an undirected displeasure towards basically everything in general.

It’s difficult for me because I was ABSOLUTELY one of those people. And it’s so hard for me to even write this one because I remember what it would be like to read something like this in that mindset.

I would be so triggered, but it’s the truth and I’m not trying to be all mightier than thou, because you know briznit, I’ve definitely done my dirt and have my own shit I’m ashamed of. I’m just trying to get people thinking a little before they commit to talking about things that they don’t really understand.

So look, I understand that you feel like you have to know or that you have to inform people of what’s going on, but I would have you consider that the only thing going on is in between our own two ears. Perception is reality and at the end of the day, FEAR is the perpetrator of mental slavery.

I don’t expect everyone to understand what I’m getting at here. I’m not a supporter of anyone politically, to be honest. I think they’re all different shades of exactly the same thing. I just want you to understand that the time you spend worrying about the outside is time that’s taken away from working on the inside.

If you fear anything from the outside, you haven’t spent enough time working on the inside.

Jerry “Fear not” Washington

P.S. I am kinda at a loss for words when it comes to the geopolitical stuff.  I know that there are people that we’ve traditionally elected to run the world, but I have a feeling that it’s gonna have to change soon. Maybe not next 50 years soon, but soon. It’s not because I believe our current system is right or wrong, it’s because I believe that we have the potential as humans to create and implement a system that is fair without the need for scrutiny.

Just imagine a world where everyone loves themselves so much that they actually see others in themselves. That is where we should be. Focus in, intention out. Talk soon…

A Better Way

Yesterday, I went on a bit of a tirade about shaming.
Everyone does it, but why? Is it something we are programmed to do?
No, actually it’s not.
You see mon ami, the reason why people shame is because they are so empty from
Trying to find fulfillment in ineffective ways that the only thing that most
People can do to have any kind of self worth, is to shame others.
Most people, when they shame others, aren’t really coming from an intention
Of helping someone, it’s really that they are suppressing something from shame
From their own past and they might actually identify with what they are shaming.
It’s actually pretty prominent and I can prove it.
Take Donald Trump for example…
Whatever your political affiliation, you cannot deny who our president is.
But he represents something that I think has been happening for some time now.
Barack Obama, arab spring, Brexit, the Donald…all are clear indicators that people
Are looking for change and are getting more aggressive in looking for it.
You see, when you take the time to shame others (as the Don has) you take
Time away from improving yourself. I mean look how much time he actually
Dedicated to golfing instead of doing his job (which is in a way, kinda nice)
But I digress…
There is a better way and it is to honestly take an introspective look at your own
Life and find out what needs to be improved, while paying less attention to the
Obvious faults and missteps of others.
It’s pretty much one of the main staples of my teaching and training.
At the General Fitness Company we are mastering fitness in a
Brand new way by taking it past chicken and broccoli and into
Analyzing and what works best for you as individual to live the
Fulfilled life.
I would like you to consider what cooperation and self love can
Do to rocket launch you onto a higher path to success.
Change never starts in the mind, it starts in the heart and only ends when
You believe that your power becomes in line with your potential.

P.S. A lot of people believe that self improvement is for people that really need it.
I would have you consider that self improvement is something that we all really
Need to undergo on a daily basis. It’s not enough to say you have this degree
Or that certification, or even X years of experience.
If you aren’t constantly trying to improve the past means nothing.
I would like you to consider joining the conversation that has had people
Taking a look inside themselves and discovering the confidence and
Motivation they been looking everywhere else for

Is It Too Soon To Look Forward To 2020?

Remember this?: http://www.people.com/article/kanye-west-president-taylor-swift-running-mate

Are you kidding me?

Well you know what? That actually shouldn’t surprise us at all. You see, Kanye and Taylor are really not that different.

How you ask?

Well simply put my friend, they both produce and big time.

See they both came from pretty meager beginnings, but put a lot of time into their craft.

We all know that Taylor writes her own songs and pretty much all of them have been a hit. I can only imagine what she has that didn’t work so well.

I bet it’s in a vault somewhere in a small box. On it, inscribed in crayon, it reads “Taylor’s bad music.”

Kanye actually wrote a song about his own meteoric rise to the top, in a song called “Spaceship

One line that I really thought to be great was his:

Lock yourself in a room doing 5 beats a day for 3 summersI deserve to do these numbers

Personally, I don’t think that’s a ton, like I think I could make at least 10 beats before you finish reading this email.

That’s besides the point though.

I’ve always had a little crush on TayTay since that fateful moment at the music awards and it makes me happy that their beef is now done because I like Kanye too.

These two both work hard to produce original music that the world loves.

It reminds me a little myself.

I’m not a musical artist, but I work hard everyday on my craft. I’m constantly reading articles on fitness and books on wellness so I can learn more to help you.
I’ve been doing this for almost a decade now and I’m never afraid to commit to something that would improve my service, like starting the 28 Day Fat Furnace.

Dude seriously, I don’t think there are many out there that work harder than me at making you more awesome.

I mean, how many of your chicken and broccoli, Tupperware toting trainers even have a monthly newsletter like I do?

Or even come close to updating their blog as regularly as I do?

Yeah, that’s my program and I’ve helped literally, hundreds of people have fun while getting fit since we started in that playground in Narberth almost a decade ago.

It all comes down to this. If you work hard and keep believing in yourself, you never know who will want to support you and only add to your success.
