Last Drop Of Coffee

I remember when I was younger and

In college, I used to have roommates.

They were all cool guys, but I remember

One in particular.

One of the guys happens to be a CEO for

A national company. One of the youngest ever

But doesn’t surprise me or anyone one bit.

Why? Because this guy is a natural leader.

Let me break it down for you…

This guy was one of the nicest guys ever

But he was tough, because he had high

Expectations for himself, he also had them

For everyone around him.

But it wasn’t even about that.

You see, this guy was so nice and so helpful

That although he expected a lot out of you

You almost felt bad disappointing him.

He would go out of his way to help anyone

And he never seemed put off by it.

He’d get up early and refill the coffee pot

For us and remind others to do the same.

You would always see him holding doors

And helping those that need help.

We all recognize these qualities of a leader

But there’s a bit more to it than that.

Through his leadership he also found a way

To make others happy and that’s what

I’m interested in talking about today..

What is a leader?

That’s a great question that I think can be

Answered by looking at a leader’s qualities

I’ve already listed a few, but I could

Go on for an eternity and I still wouldn’t

Have given you any more of an idea as to

What a Good one looks like

So check this…

How about we break it down to one

Simple, identifiable trait.

Even my roommate, the guy that didn’t

Always pick up his socks, but never

Complained about leaving ours around.

Had an enormous amount of courage.

Because he was also the leader of a

Frat that was not known for it’s model

Behavior, but he developed a culture

At least in my 4 years there, where

The members (myself included)

Believed more in his vision for helping

Others and having fun than our own

Vision of partying and wrecking other

Frat houses.

Oh did I forget to mention I was

In that frat?

NE hoo, what’s important to recognize

Here is that this one guy changed over

104 years of tradition of  partying, raiding

Sororities,  and terrorizing other frats, In

Lieu of a kinda nicer fraternity that came to

Be respected and loved, in a way similar

To what people showed to the leader.

ONE GUY changed a reputation that stood

For 104 years…

What will you do with your life today?

Jerry “tradition changer” Washington

P.S. I wish I kept in contact with that guy

We all knew he would be great, just like

We all know when we see a good leader.

Tomorrow, I want to talk a little more

About what it means to have courage

And what you can to grow it in your

Life. I always (try to) pick up the conversation

In my private Facebook group, so if you’re

Itching to talk more about this, I would

Encourage you to join the conversation

The Easiest Way To Make 6 Figures…

Ok, the title of this one might have sparked

A few people’s interest and today

I’m going to talk about how to make money.

Lots of it!

I’m not selling you on some get rich quickie

It’s the truth and it’s actually very simple.

You see, I’ve seen a lot of people deal with

All kinds of obstacles in life, but the one that

Gets most people is money.

Yeah we all know it’s a tool to happiness.

But you know what else it is?

A promise.

A promise to exchange goods/services

At a future date for something right now.

But many people just stop there and think

That to make lots of money, they just have to

Work really hard and serve a lot of people.

Find what people like and do it over and over.

I know I thought that way until I learned

This one thing.

Ok well actually let me back up for a second

Because it is pretty much finding what people

Like and doing it over and over…BUT

And that’s a Nikki Manage/JLo sized but

It’s not what you think.

You see, let’s say for instance say you were

Working on a project and worked really hard.

You put it out into the world and

Nobody likes it, in fact they hate it.

Are you likely to make a profit?

Probably not.

How about if you work on a project

You hate and the world loves.

Are you likely to make money?

Sure, but you might not be happy for long.

So what’s the secret?

Well it’s quite simply one thing.

Know thyself and give of thyself.

What do I mean here?

You see, Broca-cola you have to know yourself

You know, likes and dislikes, what drives you…

No matter which way you slice it, if you’re

Trying to be someone you’re not, then people

Sense that and either you or they will have a

Real problem being happy with what you’re doing.

Honestly, there’s nobody in the world

That EVERYBODY gets along with so

The best thing is to find who you do get

Along with and help them out.

Help them by developing your talents and

Using your passion to create a way for

Someone to benefit from your unique talent(s).

It’s really as simple as

1) Be authentic

2) Develop your passion

3) Find people who are like you

4) Create a way to help them

5) Feel good (fulfilled)

6) Make money as you repeat the process.

Not as difficult as many people make it out to be right?

But sometimes we just have to sit down and actually

Think about what makes us happy and fulfilled

Because it’s likely that someone like you is out there

Looking for the same thing you are.

Jerry “laughing (with you) to the bank” Washington

P.S. I feel like I could do a better job explaining this

But honestly it took me a while to understand it

I mean more than just conceptualize it because

I just kept believing that if I worked hard enough

That making lots of money Or at least enough to

Make me happy would be inevitable.

I could go on, but honestly that’s why I created a group

So that I could help people begin to take that journey

Towards fulfillment and away from money chasing.

If that sounds interesting to you and you would like to

Learn more about what you can do to find fulfillment

AND make more money. Join the conversation here.

Is it really worth it? Does a blog really get out your message?

Well if you suck, the first few words turn people off and then on they

Go to the next blog, porn site, facebook post…what have you.

This is making me a little Nervous

But seriously man, I think it was Hemingway that said that

If he wrote for 20 years, but didn’t show it to anyone

And he died without anyone knowing his works

It would all still be worth it.

Really bro? I couldn’t imagine anyone saying that in this clickbait society

Where everyone is constantly spouting opinions about everything from haircuts

To the way awards nominees should be announced.

Seriously, everybody’s gotta fucking opinion.

But you know what broseph?

There’s a hashtag that you may or may not have run across

If you’ve read my “work” before.

You see people running around getting all butt hurt, because they

Weren’t tagged in something or didn’t get recognition for something.

Man, where I’m from, when you don’t get recognition you don’t get mad

You go out and earn that shit dude.

History’s greats didn’t just appear out of thin air. They all worked on it.

And man this was before click funnels and fake news and all the

“Look at me” tools we have at our disposal.

The best way to get people to “Look at me (you)” Is to put out work.

Good work too man. Don’t just be half asssing stuff for the sake of

Saying you did something.

I go on rants sometimes, like this because I see these things in myself.

I too know that I can improve. I don’t always feel like it, you know?

My shit’s not always on point…But you know what, I’m pleased

Because either way, the experience I gain will add to my growth.

You may be a blog writer like me trying to create an audience

Or you may be trying your hand at some other endeavor.

The thing to remember is that no matter the outcome

You always win if you learn from your failures

And celebrate your accomplishments

Jerry “oooh a rant” Washington

P.S. Yup just a random off the cuff rant. I hope to read it later and chuckle.

Thanks for reading. Talk soon…
