And Then She Died…

I know an old lady who swallowed a fly

I don’t know why she swallowed a fly

I think. She’ll. Die…

I know an old lady…

Ok I think you might remember that little

Diddy from elementary school.

old lady

Yeah, I mean who swallows

A Fly

Spider

Bird

Cat

Dog

And eventually a horse?

Seriously, though who does that???

I’ll tell you who

A dead old lady. HA!

We can both agree that her methods might have been

A little off, but she was determined to fix her original mistake

Until she eventually just died

I feel you grandma.

Yesterday we talked about how it can take time to reach your potential

I said something along the lines of “…if you haven’t been burned out before

Then you’re either lying to yourself or you haven’t challenged yourself.”

I would have you consider that it is good to know and test your limits.

Scratch the ceiling, but don’t scratch so hard you fall over

Go unconscious and have to take extra time off

Only to find that when you get back, the ceiling is now

Covered in scratch resistant, stainless steel.

You see, I don’t know why that old lady swallowed the fly

But I do know why she eventually died.

BURNOUT

Don’t let it happen to you.

Don’t wait until you are frustrated to the point of tears (or eating a horse)

Discover a new path to success that brings you closer to

Your goals without burning you out in flames

If you are frustrated with your current situation and you feel like

You just aren’t getting where you want with your health or happiness

Then I would have you consider that my program may be for you.

P.S. I would like to reiterate that burnout is serious.

But at the same time, you have to have serious work ethic to get there.

So don’t take this as me saying that you should just relax

While you wait for your goals to come to you.

So I guess I’m halfway endorsing burnout

At least once in your life (preferably early on) so you know what it is to work your hardest

Then work your way back to a good balance. Talk soon…
